This Privacy Policy explains how SonaraAI ("SonaraAI", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and video-generation service at sonaraai.co.in (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated as you use the Service:

• Account information: name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
• Content you create: scripts, prompts, topics, uploaded videos/images, and the videos, voiceovers, and music generated on your behalf.
• YouTube connection: if you connect your YouTube channel, we store an encrypted authorization token so we can publish videos to your channel at your request. We never see or store your Google password.
• Payment information: when you purchase credits, payment is processed by Razorpay. We store the transaction result (amount, credits granted, status) but never your card or bank details — those are handled entirely by Razorpay.
• Support communications: messages you send us through in-app chat or the contact form, including your email address so we can reply.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and generation activity (e.g. which type of video you generated), used to improve the product and diagnose issues.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and cookies necessary to keep you logged in and remember your preferences.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service (generating scripts, voiceovers, videos, and publishing to YouTube when you ask us to).
• To process payments and manage your credit balance.
• To communicate with you — account verification codes, service updates, replies to your support messages, and (only if you don't opt out) occasional product announcements or bonus offers.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
• To understand how the Service is used so we can improve it.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

To generate your content, we send relevant parts of your request (such as your script topic or text) to the following processors, strictly to deliver the feature you requested:

• Anthropic (Claude) — AI script writing
• OpenAI — text-to-speech voiceover generation
• ElevenLabs — premium human-like voiceover generation
• Google Gemini — AI image generation
• Pexels — stock video footage search
• Suno — AI music generation
• Google (YouTube Data API) — publishing videos to your connected channel, only when you explicitly request it
• Razorpay — payment processing

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data sent to them. We only share what's necessary for the specific feature you're using, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

4. Data Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored or transmitted in plain text. YouTube authorization tokens are encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated videos and files may be periodically cleaned up from our servers to manage storage; download anything you want to keep. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. These are always on — the Service can't work without them.

With your consent, we also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure the performance of our advertising — for example, whether an ad led to a signup or purchase. This includes the pixel in your browser and a server-side copy of the same conversion events (Meta Conversions API), which shares your hashed email address and IP with Meta for ad measurement. Both are active only after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner; if you decline, nothing is shared with Meta. You can change your choice at any time:

Manage cookie preferences — this clears your saved choice and shows the banner again.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below — we'll respond within a reasonable time and verify your identity before making changes.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
